Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
